Biography

Aleksandra A. Jovanovich is a Research Associate at the Institute for the Application of Nuclear Energy (INEP) at the University of Belgrade in Serbia. She earned her PhD in 2018 from the University of Belgrade's Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy, where her dissertation focused on optimizing the extraction process from Thymus serpyllum L. herb, exploring its biological activities, and developing encapsulation techniques for the extracts. Her academic journey began with a BSc in Pharmacy from the same university in 2011, where she studied the chemical properties and significance of magnesium and iron compounds. Aleksandra's research interests lie in the extraction and encapsulation of biologically active compounds from plants, assessing their biological activities, and ensuring safety in food and cosmetics applications. Her work contributes significantly to advancing natural product research and enhancing the safety and efficacy of plant-based products.
