Dr. Vithya V is presently working as an Assistant Professor and Head i/c of the Department of Applied Psychology. She completed her PhD at the University of Madras in 2015. She holds a master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and an M. Phil Degree. Her fields of Specialization are Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, Media and Mental Health, Disaster Mental health, maternal Mental health, and Adolescent Mental health. She has 8 years of teaching experience and 14 years of research experience in the field of Psychology. She received the Young Scientist Award in 2018 from the Governing Council of the Indian School Psychology Association the award was instituted by Prof. Erika Vogit, a School Psychologist, and Germany. She received the Prof. Durgan and Sinha Dissertation Award from the National Academy of Psychology (NAOP) in 2018. She is a life member of the Indian Academy of Applied Psychology and the Indian School Psychology Association.
