Dr. Vesna Nikolic was born on June 23, 1984, in Užice, where she completed elementary school. She graduated from the "Fifth Belgrade Gymnasium" in Belgrade. She completed integrated undergraduate and graduate studies - Master's degree in Environmental Protection Engineering at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad in 2008, earning the title of Master Engineer of Environmental and Occupational Health Protection. She defended her master's thesis titled "Waste Management Methods in the Process of Casting Non-Ferrous Metals." In the same year, 2008, she enrolled in doctoral studies at the Faculty of Technology and Metallurgy in Belgrade, specializing in Metallurgical Engineering. At the same faculty, she defended her doctoral dissertation titled "Catalytic Materials Based on Ni-Pd/Al2O3 System" on July 13, 2015, obtaining the title of Doctor of Science in Metallurgical Engineering. From 2009 until now, she has been involved in projects of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia, conducting experimental research in the field of Metallurgical Engineering. Her research focuses on obtaining copper and noble metals from electronic waste and developing processes and technologies for synthesizing monolithic Ni/Al2O3 catalysts. This is evidenced by numerous papers published in journals and presented at international and national conferences, as well as co-authorship on three technical and developmental solutions. She participates in Technical Supervision and consulting services for the project of supplementing the technological process of recycling electronic waste plants. Since 2017, she has been leading a strategic innovation project in collaboration with the Technology Transfer Office of the Innovation Fund within the Technology Transfer Program (TTP).She completed the Training for Energy Audits in Industry in 2011, organized by the Innovation Center of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Belgrade and the Network for Energy Efficiency in Industry in Serbia, applying the acquired knowledge during participation in the preparation of technical reports within the international project E! 6735-ESPAL.She is trained to work with software packages such as "Origin," "Superpose Designer," "HSC Chemistry," "FLIR Tools," "Adobe Photoshop," and "CorelDraw." She possesses advanced knowledge of the English language and basic knowledge of the Russian language.
