Biography

Marina Jakšić was born on October 28, 1985. in Zadar, Republic of Croatia. She finished primary and secondary school in Bar, Montenegro, with excellent results, as a holder of the "Luča" diploma. She entered the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica, University of Montenegro in 2004 and graduated in 2010 with an average grade of 9.31, earning the title of Doctor of Medicine. From 2011 until today, she has been employed at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica as a professional associate in the course Pathological Physiology and Laboratory Medicine. Since 2012, she has been employed at the Center for Clinical and Laboratory Diagnostics of the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG), as a clinical physician and then as a physician on specialization, while since 2022 she has been performing the duties of a specialist physician in the field of clinical biochemistry for the needs of the Institute for Children's Diseases KCCG. She enrolled in postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine in Podgorica in 2010 and defended her initial research (equivalent to master's studies) in 2015 under the title "Research on nutritional status (obesity and malnutrition) in school-aged children in Podgorica - clinical, pathophysiological and epidemiological aspects". She defended her doctoral thesis entitled "Inflammation, oxidative stress and metabolic syndrome in pre-obese and obese children in Montenegro" in January 2022 at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montenegro, mentor prof. Dr. Milica Martinović. As an undergraduate student, she was the recipient of a scholarship from the Municipality of Bar as well as a scholarship from the Republic of Montenegro in the period from 2004 to 2010. years. She is the winner of the "ZAMTES" award, which is awarded to the best students of the University of Montenegro by the Institute for International Scientific, Educational-Cultural and Technical Cooperation, Government of Montenegro, in 2009. As part of the Central European University Exchange Program (CEEPUS), as a doctoral student, she was on a study stay at Transylvania University in Brasov, Romania, in October 2011, as well as at the Medical University of Warsaw, Poland, in July 2013. In the period from 2012-2015. In 2008, she participated in a Montenegrin scientific-research project entitled "Research on obesity and poverty in Montenegrin children - clinical, pathophysiological, biochemical and preventive aspects". In the period from 2015-2016, she participated in a bilateral Montenegrin-Croatian scientific research project entitled "Comparative study on the impact of poverty on malnutrition, food and lifestyle habits of school children in the cities of Podgorica and Osijek".
she is a member of the Montenegrin Society for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (CDKHLM) and the European Federation for Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (EFLM). He has an active EuSpLM (European Specialist in Laboratory Medicine) certificate. He currently serves as a corresponding member of the Young Scientists Section of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine (IFCC), in front of the CDKHLM.
