Volha Shapaval is currently working as an Associate Professor as Faculty member of Science and Technology at Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). My current research interests are in the area of microbial biotechnology and bioprocess developement with the focus on fungal high-value metabolites such as lipids, chitin and chitosan, pigments and glucans. In addition, I am interested in bioprospecting of algae and bacteria. Further, I have a strong interest in vibrational spectroscopy as a techology for biochemical profiling of microbial cell factories on multi-scale level - cell populations, single cells and organelles.
