Publication Ethics

SCIMEDPRESS follow strict ethical standards for publication to ensure high quality scientific studies, credit for the research participants. Any ethical issues will be scrutinized carefully to maintain the integrity of literature.

Article Evaluation

All the articles submitted to SCIMEDPRESS will undergo prequality check before subjecting to peer review and the articles should meet the standards of academic excellence. If the article violated the journal standards our Research team will seek advice from the experts and academic editor before taking any appropriate actions in declining to further consider a submission.

Plagiarism

All submitted manuscripts will be rejected if found plagiarized (whether published or unpublished), because SCIMEDPRESS believe taking the ideas and work of other researchers without proper attribution is dishonest. All sources must be cited properly at the point of use and reuse.

Multiple Submissions

SCIMEDPRESS believes, it is unethical to submit the manuscript to more than one journal at the same time and SCIMEDPRESS consider only original content, which is not published earlier. Doing this kind of malpractice will cost the valuable time of our academic editors, peer review experts and it also impact the reputation of the author as well as the journals. However if multiple journals publishes the same article, the later published journal need to retracted.

Redundant Publications

Redundant publication means inappropriate division of study experiment into many articles. Generally journals will show interest in publishing a quality paper by combining all the experimental results which will be very informative for the readers. Editors might reject if they suspect a "salami publication'.

Citation Manipulation

Most of the author’s primary purpose for publishing the articles is to increase the number of citations from their own or associated work or articles published in a particular journal which can be rejected. Authors should ensure where the material is taken from others source

• Excessive self-citation of own work is not encouraged.
• Authors are not allowed to copy the references from other published articles if they have not read the cited work.
• Authors should not favorably cite their own, friends, colleagues or universities publications .
• Authors are not allowed to cite advertisements or its material.

Data Fabrication and Falsification

Data fabrication means the researcher has submitted the falsified data where study has not yet done. Data Falsification means the researcher has manipulated the experimental data, images and results.

Improper Author Contribution or Attribution

All the authors in the manuscript must have made an important contribution to the research published in it and approved its claims. You need to list out all the authors who made their research contribution in shaping the quality of article. The International Committee of Medical Journal Editors has detailed guidelines on authorship that are useful for scientific community.

If there are any changes in the authorship, the listed authors of the manuscript have to notify the journal and it should be endorsed by the corresponding author.

Conflicts of Interest

Competing interest may arise when the issues (Financial interests, Conclusions, Opinions stated and many) outside the research, which impact the objectivity of the work. And it can happen at any stage of research cycle during experimentation phase, article is being written, peer review process, conversion of manuscript into a published article.

If you are not sure about COI, declare a potential interest in the manuscript. However undeclared interest submissions revealed later will be rejected. For more details please follow the guidelines from ICMJE and WAME.

All peers are requested to decline in reviewing a manuscript if they have a potential conflict or declare any potential conflict.

SCIMEDPRESS requests all its Editors and Reviewers to submit a Conflict of Interest statement while reviewing a manuscript and would not handle if there was a potential Conflict of Interest.

Ethical Guidelines for Authors

All the authors who are interested in publishing their papers in SCIMEDPRESS must abide the following

• Authors are requested to present their research findings and include an objective conversation of the significance of their findings.
• All contributed authors information should be included in the manuscript if they are qualified for authorship.
• Authors are requested to disclose possible conflict of interest if any prior to submission.
• Authors are requested to present all the data and methods used in the research in detail in the submitted manuscript so that the other researchers can use your work.
• Multiple submissions are not encouraged.
• If the article is original research then the results must be novel and should not be published previously (In other languages as well).
• Authors are responsible in getting the permission from the copy right holder for the previously published figures, tables used and any other copy right images used in the manuscript.
• Authors are requested to contact the Editorial office if notice any post publication corrections after publication.

Ethical Guidelines for Editors and Reviewers

SCIMEDPRESS Editors and Reviewers should decline to be participate with a submission when they

• Recently have a publication or associated with current submission author
• Shared an affiliation with an author
• Collaborate with an author
• Closely related to the author
• Have a commercial benefit from the subject of the work

Editors and Reviewers are requested to declare any other interests in the confidential section of the review form.

Sanctions

If SCIMEDPRESS notices continuous breaches of our publication ethics policies, the following sanctions may be applied

• Rejection of the current manuscript and not accepting any other manuscripts submitted by the authors
• Not accepting submissions for more than a year.
• Not eligible for reviewing the articles as an Editor/Reviewer
• Removing as an Editorial Board member from all the SCIMEDPRESS Journals
• SCIMEDPRESS can ban the author for lifetime if there are severe breaches from the author

Corrections and Retractions

SCIMEDPRESS will follow the below mentioned points in order to proceed with the Corrections and Retractions

• If the errors identified in published articles, the publisher will contact the article editor and corresponding author for further action.
• If the errors by the authors may be corrected by a corrigendum and errors by the publisher by an erratum.
• Any corrections will completely change the conclusions and identified as an evidence of misconduct then SCIMEDPRESS reserves the right to retract the submission.
