Dr. Zorica Tomičić is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute of Food Technology, University of Novi Sad, Serbia. She earned her M.Sc. in Technology Engineering in 2009 and her Ph.D. in the same field in 2018, both from the Faculty of Technology Novi Sad. Her doctoral research focused on the impact of the probiotic yeast Saccharomyces boulardii on the adhesion of Candida glabrata. Dr. Tomičić's research encompasses various aspects of food and feed safety, including amino acid analysis, microbiological safety, and the antimicrobial properties of essential oils, plant extracts, and other natural compounds. She is dedicated to developing innovative, eco-friendly techniques to control pathogens and extend the shelf life of food and feed products. Additionally, she is involved in detecting genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in food. Dr. Tomičić serves as the Deputy Head of the Department of Molecular Biology at FINSLab, where she continues to contribute to advancements in her field.
