Biography

Carolina Romeiro Fernandes Chagas is a Senior Researcher at the P. B. Šivickis Laboratory of Parasitology, part of the Nature Research Centre in Lithuania. She earned her PhD in International Health and Tropical Diseases from São Paulo University in 2016, following a Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Nine of July University in 2011. Her academic journey began with a Technician in Clinical Pathology qualification from the Method Teaching Centre in São Paulo in 2007. With a robust background in parasitology and tropical diseases, Dr. Chagas contributes significantly to advancing research in her field.

Research Interest

I'm passionate about wildlife parasitology, more specifically in the studies focused on host-parasite-vector relationships and interactions, avian of haemosporidian parasites and their vectors (Culicoides, Culicidae and Simuliidae), avian Lankesterella, and pathogenicity of these parasites
